The basic fare also includes a checked bag.
The 7 kg applies to International Economy. International First, Business and Premium Economy get an overhead bag, an underseat bag (48 x 34 x 23 cm) and a personal item at 14 kg total with 10 kg per item, and flights departing India are one overhead bag only with no additional personal item. Checked baggage is included on every Qantas flight, which is unusual in this table.
A bag packed to Qantas's free limit (56 × 36 × 23 cm, longest side first) is compared against every other airline's free allowance, rotating the bag where needed.
